Jet Hicks
Jet Hicks, a Black man, was held in the jail at Sale City in Mitchell County, Georgia, after being brought there from Dooley County. In November 1906 a mob broke into the jail, took him from the building and hanged him in the jail yard. Georgia state troops from Moultrie hurried to the town but arrived minutes too late, finding him dying while a crowd watched.
