Jesus Manuel Galindo
Jesus Manuel Galindo was a husband and father who worked in the laundry at the Reeves County Detention Complex in Pecos, Texas. He had epilepsy, and his mother, who called the facility nearly every day, said he was not getting his daily medication, as did other people held there. In a letter to his mother shortly before he died, he wrote that he was scared and asked her to tell his investigator that the medical care was no good. He died on December 12, 2008, at age 32. His family and their attorney, Miguel Torres, say the lack of medical treatment was avoidable and are preparing a wrongful death suit, while the facility and its medical contractor have not accepted responsibility.
