Jesus Hernandez
Jesus Ruben Hernandez, 49, died on May 23, 2024, while held at the Downtown El Paso County Detention Center in El Paso, Texas. According to an autopsy reported by KVIA and the 34th Judicial District Attorney's Office, he died of a deadly amount of fentanyl, and his death was recorded as an overdose. Investigators said the fentanyl was smuggled into the jail. The same day, he was transferred to a federal detention facility in Sierra Blanca.
