Jesus Chavez
Jesus Chavez, 29, of Marion, was held at Richland Correctional Institution in Mansfield, Ohio, when he died on October 15, 2022. The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections said staff searched him that Saturday evening after receiving information that he might have contraband, and that he swallowed an unknown substance and went into medical distress. Officials said staff gave him naloxone and emergency personnel were called, and he was pronounced dead at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. The cause and manner of death are not yet determined, his body was sent for autopsy, and the Ohio Highway Patrol is investigating.
