Jessie Ortiz, 45, was held at the San Miguel County Detention Center in New Mexico. He was taken to Alta Vista Regional Hospital and then airlifted to Christus St. Vincent in Santa Fe for a medical issue, and he died in jail custody. Fourth Judicial District Attorney Tom Clayton said county law enforcement is investigating the death.
