Jesse Silvers
Jesse Silvers was held in the Mitchell County Jail in North Carolina when a fire swept through the building on May 3, 2002. A former prisoner who survived told WLOS that Silvers was among the first to die. The cause of the fire was never determined; a state investigation was reopened in 2008 and closed again in 2012.
