Jesse Davis
Jesse Davis, 27, was one of eight men who died in a fire at the Mitchell County jail in Bakersville, North Carolina, on May 3, 2002. Mitchell County Sheriff Ken Fox said Davis died of smoke inhalation. Seven of the men were trapped in an upstairs cell, according to the Lawrence Journal-World. The cause of the fire had not been determined, and a later account said it was never determined.
