Jerry Turner
Jerry Turner was found unresponsive in his cell at the Hamilton County Jail in Chattanooga early on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, and was later pronounced dead at a local medical facility. The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office said he had serious health issues and was receiving chronic care from the jail's contracted medical provider. The sheriff's office has attributed his death to natural causes, but the Hamilton County Medical Examiner has not yet determined the cause and manner of death. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has been asked to investigate at the request of the district attorney.
