Jerry Lee Proctor, 42, died on August 24, 2012, while held at the Anamosa State Penitentiary in Iowa. Iowa Department of Corrections officials said he died by suicide by hanging. Staff took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, and an autopsy was pending.
