Jerry Correll
Jerry W. Correll was 59 and had spent about 30 years on Florida's death row. His daughter, two grandchildren, brother and sister-in-law visited him the week before his execution, and he spoke with his daughter by phone the morning of October 29, 2015. The Florida Department of Corrections said he was executed by lethal injection at Florida State Prison in Raiford at 7:36 p.m., about an hour and a half after the scheduled time because of legal action at the U.S. Supreme Court. A witness in the viewing room said his arm shook and convulsed, and the department's communications director, McKinley Lewis, said Correll had told staff the room was cold.
