Jermelle Joseph Madison Jr.
Jermelle Madison Jr., 23, died at the Clackamas County Jail in Oregon on July 3, 2021. Willamette Week reported that he hanged himself while held there and was in a mental health crisis. The paper also reported that he had told arresting officers he would kill himself. Protesters later asked why he was not placed on suicide watch.
