Jeremy Scott
Jeremy Scott, 36, of Port Arthur, Texas, died on October 22, 2019, while held at the Jefferson County Correctional Center. His cousin Megan Harrison said the family was not prepared for his death, and Carla Carmoushe, the mother of one of his children, said he was getting ready to turn his life around and believed in unity. According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, he was taken to the facility's infirmary for medical problems and became unresponsive overnight while medical staff were with him, and he was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Texas Rangers were notified to investigate, and his family says more should have been done.
