Jeremy Paul, 30, died on August 13, 2025, at the West Baton Rouge Parish jail in Port Allen, Louisiana. The sheriff's office said he was found in a medical emergency along with two other people, and it suspects a drug overdose from a synthetic cannabinoid known as mojo, allegedly given to him by another person held there; the official cause awaits autopsy. His partner, Shingo Paul, said they had been married about six years and separated for the last three, and that she wants answers about how drugs got into the facility and wants the other people affected looked into. Deputies are still investigating how the drugs entered the jail.
