Jeremiah Presnell
Jeremiah Presnell, 20, was held at the Mitchell County jail in Bakersville, North Carolina, when a fire broke out there on the night of May 3, 2002. He was one of eight men who died in the fire, and Sheriff Ken Fox's office said they died of smoke inhalation. His widow, Glenda, said he had told her he was straightening his life out, and she was expecting the couple's third child in July. The cause of the fire had not been determined as of the reports.
