Jeremiah Connolly, reported to be 19 years old, was hanged in Chicago, Illinois, on June 20, 1878, according to the American Citizen. The Abbeville Press and Banner, in a July 1878 notice, listed his hanging among six executions it said had taken place on the same day. Neither account describes his family, his work, or what people said about him.
