Jeffrey Thomas, 50, died after being held at the Lancaster County Department of Corrections in Lincoln, Nebraska. According to KOLN, staff found him unresponsive in his housing unit on September 20, 2020, and he was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where he later died. The cause and manner of death were still pending when the report was published. A grand jury was to be convened to investigate the death, as is standard for in-custody deaths.
