Jeffrey Bryce McMaster
Jeffrey Bryce McMaster, 44, a former Oakland resident, died on June 6, 2026, while held at Santa Rita Jail in Dublin, California. The Alameda County Sheriff's Office said he had asked deputies to use the restroom in his outpatient housing unit, and that deputies then found him on the floor. He had returned to the jail about an hour earlier from hospital treatment for a seizure he had in his cell on May 28. The sheriff's office said the cause of death is pending autopsy and toxicology testing, and accounts differ on whether he was found in his cell or in a restroom.
