Jeffrey Beagley
Jeffrey Beagley, 34, of Grand Junction, Colorado, died on December 23, 2019, after being found unresponsive in his cell at the Mesa County Detention Facility and taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Mesa County Coroner's Office ruled his death a suicide, saying he was found hanging in the cell he occupied alone, and investigators said jail staff had not entered the cell between the last time he was seen moving and when he was found. Some reports say staff found him during a routine cell check that morning, and the Mesa County Sheriff's Office said it was investigating. One later report, citing jail footage, said no one else entered the cell before he was found, and the sheriff's office said the case was still under investigation.
