Jeffrey Allen, 40, died on July 10, 2019, at the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman. According to ProPublica, the coroner's office ruled his death a homicide and said he was beaten to death in a shower by other people held at the prison. ProPublica also placed his death within a series of killings of people held at the state's most secure facility that year. Mississippi Today reported his death as one of several deaths in state prisons that month.
