Died in prison
Jeffersson Arango Castellanos
Jeffersson Arango Castellanos, 37, died on December 4, 2024, while held at USP Lee, a federal prison in Pennington Gap, Virginia. The Federal Bureau of Prisons said staff found him unresponsive that Wednesday afternoon and that he was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Bureau described his death as following a "perceived altercation" and said no employees or other people held at the prison were injured. The Bureau said it had notified the FBI.
