Jefferey Reeves
Jefferey Reeves told deputies he was not well, and they took him to the Dougherty County Jail in Albany, Georgia. A jail nurse recommended that he be transported to a hospital immediately. He lost consciousness in a Sheriff's Office vehicle on the way to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital and was pronounced dead there. The sheriff's office said protocol was followed but acknowledged a delay while a deputy waited for a non-acceptance form, and the deputy was suspended without pay and disciplined.
