Jean-Luc Brunel
Jean-Luc Brunel was a former modelling agent who built a career in France in the 1970s before expanding to the United States. He was found hanging in his cell at La Santé prison in Paris on February 19, 2022, where he was being held. Prosecutors said the death appeared to be a suicide, and police opened an inquiry. His lawyers say he took his own life and that the judiciary failed to account for his high suicide risk despite several earlier suicide attempts in prison, and they asked the justice ministry for an administrative inquiry into that role. A Daily Mail report said he was not on suicide watch at the time of his death.
