Jaylien Kimble
Jaylien Kimble, 23, of Dyersburg, was held at the Dyer County Jail in Tennessee. His mother, Tabitha Tatum, said he was friendly, loving and devoted to his family, that he had two children, and that they talked regularly, including the day he died. On the evening of April 16, 2026, correctional officers found him unresponsive in his cell, and EMS took him to a local emergency room, where he was pronounced dead. The Dyer County Sheriff's Office said early findings showed a traumatic head injury, that it is investigating the death as a homicide, and that the findings are preliminary, and a full autopsy was ordered. A grand jury has since indicted five people on first-degree murder charges in connection with his death, and his mother says the family wants answers and accountability.
