Jayden Brown
Jayden Brown was 15 and had been held at the Children's Center of Northwest North Carolina in Dobson, a juvenile facility, for several weeks. His father says Jayden loved him and had been planning to move in with him, and his grandmother, Clarice Jackson, also spoke about him. Deputies were called on the morning of January 29, 2023, and found him dead. The center told the family he died in his sleep, but his father says the clothing returned to him at the funeral showed blood and vomit, which he says does not match that account. The Surry County deputies say the investigation is ongoing and the autopsy results have not been released.
