Jay Neill was put to death by the state of Oklahoma on December 12, 2002, at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester. Fr. Bryan Brooks witnessed the execution in person, and Oklahoma Watch reports that it was the last one he attended. According to the same account, the experience led Brooks to step back from attending executions.
