Javier Torres
Javier Torres, 47, was held at Pelican Bay State Prison in Crescent City, California. The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation says another incarcerated man attacked him with an improvised weapon in the lower yard on the morning of October 4, 2026. Torres was taken to a higher-level medical facility, where he later died. CDCR is investigating the death as a homicide with the prison's Investigative Services Unit and the Del Norte County District Attorney's Office.
