Jauwon Allen
Jauwon Allen, 36, was held at the Wichita Work Release Facility in Wichita, Kansas. After he did not return to the facility on the night of August 13, 2026, Kansas Department of Corrections agents tracked him to a home in south Wichita, where they heard a single gunshot as they announced themselves. Officers entered the home and found him dead from what the Kansas Department of Corrections described as an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, and authorities said no officers fired their weapons. The department says the circumstances are still under investigation.
