Jatory Evans
Jatory Evans, 29, of New Orleans, died on September 27, 2017, while held at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Gretna, where he was awaiting trial. The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office said he was found hanging inside his cell at about 4:26 p.m. and was pronounced dead at a hospital in Gretna about an hour later. The sheriff's office describes the death as apparent suicide, and coroner Dr. Gerry Cvitanovich said the final cause will be determined after the autopsy.
