Jason Lewis
Jason Lewis, 42, died in April 2018 after an attack by another man held at Salinas Valley State Prison in Soledad, California. Prison officials said the attack happened in a recreation yard on a Sunday morning, and that the other man used a prison-made stabbing weapon. Officers used pepper spray to end the attack, according to the Monterey County Weekly, and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation counted his death as the prison's third homicide of that year. The prison and the Monterey County District Attorney's Office are both investigating the death.
