Jason Hui Lui Ng
Jason Ng was held at the Wyatt Detention Center in Central Falls, Rhode Island, when he died in 2008. The ACLU of Rhode Island says he was abused and denied medical care for months, and that he was taken to a hospital only after a court order, where he was found to have a broken spine and terminal liver cancer. He died two days later. A vigil organizer with AMOR, Nikteha Salazar, said staff ignored his excruciating pain, refused him medical treatment and killed him, and the article cites no official finding. A lawsuit brought by the ACLU later led to a multimillion-dollar settlement with his family.
