Jan Dugui

Jan Dugui, an Italian man, was held in the jail at Las Vegas, New Mexico. According to a correspondent for the Evening Star, on the night of June 4, 1879, a mob that had hanged one man in the plaza returned to the jail, took Jan Dugui from it, and hanged him in the plaza in the same manner. The correspondent wrote that the sheriff was on the plaza during the first hanging.

Cause of death, as reported: Taken from custody and lynched. A. M. W., correspondent of The Star, says a mob returned to the jail after the first hanging, took Jan Dugui and hanged him in the plaza.
