James Scott
James Scott, 58, was held at Stateville Correctional Center in Crest Hill, Illinois, where his cellmate Anthony Ehlers called him his best friend. Scott was hospitalized for weeks before he died on April 20, 2020. Ehlers said he feared Scott had passed the coronavirus to him, and Ehlers later wrote a memorial for him. The Illinois Department of Corrections reported the manner of death as natural causes.
