James Redmond Jr.
James Redmond Jr., 41, was held at Ross Correctional Institution in Chillicothe, Ohio, when he died on Sunday, November 17, 2013. He was found hanging from a sheet in his segregation cell that evening and was pronounced dead about an hour later at a nearby hospital. JoEllen Smith, a spokeswoman for the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, said he was alone and had hanged himself. The department and the Ohio State Highway Patrol have each opened an investigation into his death.
