James Pittman
James Pittman, 46, was a former resident of Oceanside. The San Diego County Sheriff's Office said he fell from the top bunk in his cell at the Vista Detention Facility and was found unconscious on the floor. He was taken to the facility clinic and then to Palomar Medical Center, where he was treated in intensive care until he died on February 27, 2025. The sheriff's office said the Medical Examiner's Office determined the cause of death was blunt force injury to the head and the manner an accident.
