James Lewis DeRosa
James Lewis DeRosa, 36, was executed by lethal injection at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester on June 18, 2013, with the time of death recorded as 6:07 p.m. His family said he had grown deeply religious on death row, practiced Messianic Judaism, and devoted himself to study, prayer and giving what he had to those less fortunate. Before his execution he spoke at a clemency hearing about his remorse and asked that his sentence be commuted, but the parole board did not recommend clemency. His mother, brother and sister released a statement expressing regret over his death.
