James Lemarc "Byrdman" Byrd
James Lemarc Byrd, 56, died on January 26, 2025 while held at the Alfred D. Hughes Unit, a Texas state prison in Coryell County. The Texas Attorney General's custodial death report says he was found unconscious, taken to the prison medical facility, and later pronounced dead. According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, autopsy results to determine his cause and manner of death were still pending when the state report was issued.
