James Higgins
James Higgins was found hanging from a tree near a church in Union, Mississippi, when churchgoers arrived on Thanksgiving morning in 1913. According to the San Francisco Call, officers were holding him when a mob took him from them and lynched him. Those are the only details the account gives of his death.
