James Harris
James Harris, 23, was from New Haven. He died on November 10, 2021, at Cheshire Correctional Institution in Cheshire, Connecticut, where he was held. Officials said a correctional staff member found him unresponsive in his cell with a ligature around his neck, tied to his bunk. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled the death a suicide, while an earlier Department of Correction statement said the State Medical Examiner's Office would determine the manner and cause, and state police said there did not appear to be a criminal aspect to the investigation. The Department of Correction said its investigation is ongoing.
