James Grayson Hall Jr., 63, died on August 31, 2025, at the Surry County Detention Center in North Carolina. The Surry County Sheriff's Office said staff witnessed a medical emergency and began treatment before he went into cardiac arrest. Surry County EMS tried life-saving measures, but he died. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation was notified of the death.
