James Edward Cain
James Cain, 48, died on May 3, 2020, in his cell at Tygart Valley Regional Jail in West Virginia, where he was being held. Staff found him unresponsive, gave medical aid and called EMS, which pronounced him dead. A spokesperson for the West Virginia Department of Military Affairs and Public Safety said he appeared to have died by suicide. The Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation was awaiting the autopsy and a State Police review of the incident.
