James Dennis Hirt
James Dennis Hirt, 24, of Norco, died on December 25, 2024, at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning, Riverside County. According to a sheriff's news release, he got into a fight with a cellmate, and deputies pepper-sprayed both men and handcuffed them. Hirt became unresponsive afterward and was pronounced dead at the jail. The sheriff's office has said Hirt started the fight, and the cause of his death is still under investigation.
