James David Majors
James David Majors, 69, had been held on death row at San Quentin State Prison since 1991. He died on Thursday, January 26, 2017, at a hospital near the prison, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. The department said the cause of death is unknown and is awaiting an autopsy, and San Quentin Lt. Sam Robinson gave the same account to the Orange County Register.
