James Anglin
James Anglin died in February 2018 while held at the Lake County Jail in Florida. His mother, through a lawsuit, says he became violently ill after ingesting a large amount of methamphetamine, vomiting repeatedly and unable to walk, and that detention deputies failed to act and that he would likely have survived with medical care. WFTV reported that he had asked for help while going through drug withdrawal and that a nurse at Armor Correctional Health Services, the jail's medical provider at the time, ignored the request. His mother said she had always worried his addictions could lead to his death and never expected it at a facility that should have been watching him. The sheriff's attorney places blame on Anglin and the Armor nurses, and the case has been moved to federal court.
