Jamaal Ramsey, 27, died on July 2, 2017, in the cell he shared at Brooks Correctional Facility in Muskegon, Michigan. Staff found him dead in his upper bunk, and investigators believed he had been dead for some time. Muskegon County Chief Assistant Prosecutor Timothy Maat said he died of asphyxia by choking and that his cellmate has been charged with murder in his death.
