Jaden Johnson
Jaden Johnson, 19, of Independence, Iowa, died in a cell at the Buchanan County Jail on May 7, 2022, where he was being held before trial. The sheriff's office said he died by asphyxiation and that the death appears to be suicide. Emergency crews tried to save him, but he was pronounced dead. The cause and manner remain pending an investigation and an autopsy by the Iowa State Medical Examiner's Office.
