Jacob L. West, 30, of Beloit, died at the Rock County Jail in Janesville on September 14, 2024. According to the Rock County Sheriff's Office, a correctional officer found him hanging in his single-occupancy cell during a routine security check around 8:40 p.m. The Rock County Medical Examiner's Office said he apparently hanged himself, but the cause and manner of death remain pending further tests, and the sheriff's office and medical examiner are both investigating.
