Jacob Hunsell
Jacob Hunsell was 27 and from Waltonville, Illinois. He was found unconscious in his cell at the Jefferson County Jail early on the morning of December 20, 2023, and was taken to Crossroads Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department said he apparently harmed himself. The Illinois State Police and a parallel administrative investigation are underway. The sheriff and his staff have sent condolences to his family.
