Died in prison
Jabari Jaron Young
Jabari Jaron Young was held at Staton Correctional Facility in Elmore. After an incident involving staff, he was placed in a temporary holding cell, and on December 28, 2024, he was found there unresponsive during medication rounds and pronounced dead. The Alabama Department of Corrections said it was investigating both his death and the earlier incident, and no cause of death was reported.
Cause of death, as reported: Cause not yet determined. ADOC says it is still investigating the death and an earlier assault on staff, and has not given a cause.
