Isiah Mitchell
Isiah Mitchell, 26, was described by his mother, Deborah, as energetic, loving and a good spirit, and by his brothers, sisters and coworkers as peaceful. He had children. He died on January 30, 2023, while held at the Oklahoma County Detention Center. Jail officials said staff found him attempting suicide in his cell, and a jail investigation said a detention officer found him hanging during a site check; he was pronounced dead at a hospital. The state medical examiner had not yet determined the cause of death, and the jail said it could not confirm whether he was on suicide watch or sharing a cell. His mother does not believe he killed himself and wants more answers.
