Died in prison
Isaac Duran
Isaac Duran, 41, was held at Kern Valley State Prison in Delano, California, when he was attacked on October 14, 2023. The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said two other incarcerated people attacked him with a weapon made inside the prison, and that he was stabbed multiple times. He was taken to Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield, where he died on November 9, 2023. CDCR is investigating the death as a homicide, and the Kern County Coroner will determine the official cause of death.
